Types of CCTV Systems​

1. Analog CCTV Systems
   Affordable and effective, analog systems use coaxial cables with BNC connectors to transmit video signals. While typically lower in resolution, these systems offer a cost-effective solution with broad compatibility. Standard analog setups:

   • Require more peripherals, as coaxial cables generally don’t transmit audio.

   • Can be upgraded to Analog HD for higher resolution (up to 1080p) while remaining compatible with older analog equipment.

   • Store footage on a PC or tape recorder with a video capture card.

2. Digital CCTV Systems
   Digital systems capture video in a fully digital format at the camera level, eliminating the need for a video capture card. These systems:

   • Store footage directly on computers, enabling smoother data handling.

   • Require substantial storage capacity due to high data volume, often compressed for efficiency.

   • Deliver enhanced image quality and adaptability for more comprehensive security setups.

3. Network (IP) CCTV Systems
   The most advanced CCTV option, IP systems utilize internet connectivity to stream footage via a video server. With remote access capabilities, these systems allow for flexible and intelligent security solutions:

   • Include features such as WiFi connectivity, audio streaming, and Distributed Artificial Intelligence (DAI) for real-time image analysis.

   • Support Power Over Ethernet (POE) for simplified installation.

   • Cover a wider field of view with multi-lens cameras, reducing the need for multiple units.
